Luz Segovia - President
Luz Segovia is owner and director of Segovia Salon & Spa, an Aveda Concept Salon, located in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area. She is a certified coach for Aveda and an industry educator. Luz is a past President of ICA and sits on the education committee. Additionally, she liaisons with Cosmetólogos Latinos and has been featured in local media as well as in articles for American Salon, Modern Salon, Vibra Magazine and Salon Plus.

Frank Gironda - First Vice President
30 years since its inception, Frank Gironda is the force behind Frank Gironda Salons & Day Spa. He entered his first competition the same year he opened the doors to Chicago's Tops in Town Coiffures Salon and handily won his first "First Place" trophy. These experiences laid the foundation for Frank's career commitment to continuing education and a constant infusion of fresh ideas for himself and his staff. Frank has been a member of CC for over 20 years and has served on numerous CC standing committees.

Joseph Cartagena - Second Vice President
Joseph Cartagena has been active in the industry for 21 years and participates on several boards of cosmetology institutions. He has served on various CC committees including Education, Nominating, Competitions, Scholarship and Membership. Currently, he is the acting Chair of CC's Artistic Team. Joseph is a Director Stylist and President of Genacelli Salon and Day Spa.

Denise Provenzano - Secretary
Denise Provenzano is the founder and president of Zano Salons. The first Zano Salon opened in 1985 and currently, there are five suburban locations with a flagship salon in downtown Naperville. Denise continues to direct the company’s education and artistic efforts, as well as its community relations and marketing activities. In 1992, when Zano University opened, Denise focused her efforts on education at all levels for her employees.

Karol Thousand - Treasurer
Karol Thousand has been a licensed professional in the field of cosmetology for over 25 years as well as a leader in business administration, strategic planning, and implementation with cosmetology schools. Karol is currently Operations Officer for La James International Colleges. Karol actively shares her expertise with professional and civic associations.

Jerry Gordon - Immediate Past President
Jerry Gordon has been a hair stylist and CC member for nearly 40 years. He is owner of J. Gordon Designs, and a member of Intercoiffure. Jerry is very active with CC and serves on several standing committees. He has educated at the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show and has been a guest artist for several CC events. He has been a guest on radio and television programs including National Public Radio and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Bonnie Canavino
Bonnie Canavino is the designer and President of Spa Specifics, Inc. a consulting and manufacturing firm serving the spa industry. Bonnie brings over 20 years of industry expertise in product sales and business development. She is a frequent contributor to leading industry and consumer periodicals including DAYSPA, Renew, Nails Magazine, Allure, Lucky, ELLE and Chicago Magazine. Bonnie is also a regular contributing writer for ChicagoMidwestBeautyShow.com and Chicago Fashion Magazine.

Kathy Jager
Kathy Jager is a twenty-seven year veteran in cosmetology with a diverse background in education, writing and business. She has participated in the industry as a licensed Instructor, Salon Owner, Stylist, Independent Salon Owner, Retail Specialist, Educator/Design Team Member for ISO and Zottos Corporation. She is now enjoying a new career as a popular motivational industry writer and keynote speaker.

Debra Jargstorf
Debra Jargstorf has a career that spans 25 in the industry and currently works as an industry consultant and technical educator. Debra has held the position of National Education Manager for two major industry manufacturers, traveling throughout the US working with national chain salons, distributors and cosmetology schools. In addition, Debra has developed and conducted a multitude of motivational, technical and sales-related seminars. Debra also serves on the NCA of Illinois Board of Directors.

Andrea Nierhoff
Andrea Nierhoff celebrates 19 years in the hairdressing industry as of this year. Six years ago when she decided to open a salon of her own she became a more active member of CC in order to find a network of people who could support her in her new role as salon owner. Her experiences with CC have given her more confidence in her work and herself and she has joined the board to reach out to other hairdressers and help spread the word about the wonderful opportunities CC has to offer.

Philip Palmeri
Philip Palmeri is the co-owner of TRIO Salon, Ltd. where he trains and develops staff in management, service and style. Named one of the country's best colorists by Self magazine, Philip has also held the title of National Performing Artist for Redken 5th Avenue. Philip began his career with Vidal Sassoon specializing in color and texture. He has been featured in publications including Modern Salon, American Salon, and Allure.

Stephanie Pegues
Stephanie Pegues has been President and CEO of Panache Hair Design, LLC since 1999. She is an active member of CC, NCA and The Salon Association. She graduated from DePaul University with a B.S. in Computer Science/Information Systems. In addition to her beauty industry involvement, Stephanie previously worked in marketing and management with 3Com Corporation, Ameritech Corporation and IBM.

Larry Silvestri
Larry Silvestri is a seasoned business owner and operator with more than 17 years of experience in the industry. Currently, he is Senior Vice President of Operations for Mario Tricoci Hair Salons and Day Spas. He has previously held a position on the CC Board of Directxors, several committees and has been a member since 1996.
