2008 Recap America’s Beauty Show listened to what hairdressers wanted and brought it all to African-American Hair 2008! Jacqueline Tarrant told stylists not only what they need to know to keep clients in the chair but how to grow their business through a thorough knowledge of the competition. James Adams gave attendees solutions to getting gorgeous color AND stunningly soft, relaxed hair then showed off the sexy results. And, of course, every hairdresser wants to know how to translate the latest in high-end celebrity cuts for their clients!
That’s why America’s Beauty Show brought star stylist Dr. Boogie in for the play-by-play on what he does for clients like Eve and Kimora Lee Simmons. Attendees had full and free access to special stage shows sponsored by Clairol Professional, Namastè and SoftSheen-Carson who demonstrated the latest styles, colors and techniques for African-American clients- effectively bringing great hair from the stage to the salon.
2008 Free Stage Presentations Included:
* Lenita Griffis-Browning & Dr. Reginald Mitchell of Namaste. * Wanda Jackson of Clairol Professional. * Carla Jones of SoftSheen-Carson
2008 CE Workshops Included:
* Jacqueline Tarrant - “Who’s Taking your Clients?” * James Adams - "Successful Color Techniques for Chemically Relaxed Hair" * Dr. Boogie - "How to Be a Successful Stylist: Tips of the Trade"
All exhibitors, workshops, artists, presenters, times and locations subject to change without notice.
Stay tuned for the 2009 line up of panelists!
2008 Recap It’s not often that salon professionals get to speak directly with the men and women who run the business side of our industry. America’s Beauty Show planners recognized that conversations between the two groups lead to products working harder for professionals. Meeting face-to-face with several hundred pros to discuss a variety of issues pertinent to the salon and spa business, were John Paul Dejoria of John Paul Mitchell Systems, Reuben Carranza of P&G Professional Care, George Schaeffer of OPI, Karen Wilken-Donachie of Pivot Point International, Sara Jones of Joico and Lydia Sarfati of Repêchage.
In 2008, Yolly Ten Koppel of Pivot Point and Robert Cromeans of John Paul Mitchell Systems, joined by Angus Mitchell and Scott Cole, reached out to touch and motivate the future of the beauty industry. They also reached out to the packed audience with arms full of cool new products, education DVDs and plenty of other swag from sponsors Hempz, Milady, Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professional and Graham Webb. Thus making it the coolest “pep rally” anyone on stage or off could remember! Stay tuned for 2009 Student Conference details! Stay connected - check out our MySpace page . . . MySpace.com/ClubCMBS
