JILL GLASER of the Make Up First ® School - "The Melt Proof Bride"

LEARN: Every bride wants to look beautiful and radiant on her wedding day. Makeup artists use specific beauty makeup products and techniques for the enhanced, beautiful bride. There are techniques and recommended products to create the “melt-proof bride”. This class will demonstrate techniques and products, which will not only help to create a radiant bride, but will ensure that the bridal makeup will last throughout the entire event.

Jill Glaser is a freelance media makeup artist and is considered to be an expert in makeup and hairstyling for the demands of high definition television, film, video and print. In 2006, in order to answer the need for superior, formal training in Chicago, Jill founded Make Up First ® School of Makeup Artistry (the “School”). Jill currently teaches the Media, Airbrush and some of the other courses at the School. In so doing, Jill serves not only as a teacher, but also more importantly, as a mentor to those aspiring makeup artists who wish to pursue their passion.

Please note: Students may audit CE or partner education if space allows but must register for the classes they wish to attend. First preference is given to licensed professionals. CE will not be awarded to students and students may not participate in the hands-on portion of any course.

Classes from Bioelelements

Cosmetologists Chicago & the American Association for Esthetics are pleased to partner with Bioelements to bring you a terrific member benefit - advanced education at the Chicago-land Bioelements learning center! This is a great way to get CE credit at classes that are normally only open to Bioelements Partnership Spas! Plus, CE classes are only $10 (you must pay with credit card when registering. Product knowledge classes are also available free of charge but no CE is awarded.

Registration:
It's easy. Simply call the Bioelements non-partnership registration line at 800-633-5638. Let them know you are an AAE or CC member and provide them with your name, license number and credit card. They will ask you for an email address and you will be sent a class confirmation with the location, map, directions, class description and all necessary info for you to attend.

RAUL MARTEZ - "Advance Color Cutting"

LEARN: Team La Academia will demonstrate and explain the importance of "BALANCE" in color cutting. It's not about learning a new haircut, it's about understanding the type of haircut you are creating. You'll also learn to work smarter, not harder! At 16 years of age, Raul Martez launched his career in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and within two years became an award-winning hair designer, including three years as Master Educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems. A native New Yorker, Raul's first expousure to haircutting was his father's barber shop, where he began learning the trade at the age of seven. His travels to Central and South America have impacted some of these countries' leading hair designers. The foundation of Raul's success is based on one philosophy: "BE THE BEST!"

Jody Byrne is a member of the Futurists' Society Of America. And as President of Trends and Sources International, Inc. she has a unique and global perspective on both the professional and retail beauty industries. She keeps her pulse on both industries via her role as Publisher of TRENDzine! , a global review of new hair care products and international beauty trends published 3X a week. She is also co-founder, with her husband Michael, of DayBreak Lavender Farm which established lavender farming in NorthEast Ohio in 2001. DayBreak makes hand, skin and body care – as well as gourmet goodies – from the herbs grown on the farm. Jody Byrne was born into the salon industry. Her grandfather, Joseph Byrne, and her father, Donn H. Byrne, Sr., built 3 key industry institutions: the Beauty And Barber Supply Institute now known as PBA, the International Beauty Show and American Salon magazine.
